Director of Account Management

Position Summary

The director of account management is responsible for leading the account management team and delivering YOY revenue growth in each of their client portfolios by working closely with sales and growing existing client revenue. The Director provides team leadership, daily management, strong business acumen, and demonstrates an expert command of programmatic digital advertising. The position is based in Santa Barbara, CA and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities

  • Provide management oversight of Account Managers and their client portfolios to ensure service levels and protocols are maintained and that effective growth strategies are employed.
  • Play a key role in acquiring, retaining and growing brand and agency relationships and revenue.
  • Work directly with clients to recommend growth strategies and to address complex issues that cannot be addressed by Account Managers.
  • Work as part of the management team to create and improve internal processes and protocols.
  • Work with product development and propose technical product enhancements that save time and improve advertising outcomes for our clients.
  • Ensure the account teams are optimally staffed, developed, and trained on the core competencies of their job roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • BA/BS/MS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • You have 8 plus years of strategic marketing experience (at least 4 in digital) on the brand/agency or customer success side in a fast-paced work environment.
  • You have proven management experience recruiting, managing, leading, and building large teams. You have successfully managed and developed individuals.
  • You establish trusted advisor relationships with client organizations to effectively develop relationships and revenue reliability across Strategic Accounts within your portfolio.
  • You are analytical, organized and methodical, with phenomenal communication skills and a consultative approach in addressing fluid client needs and expectations.
  • Previous experience in programmatic media preferred.
